As Aliya Magsumovna writes on her «VK» page: "For many, he has become a symbol of active, open and merciful Islam, and his biography is the story of a man who not only serves the faith, but also changes thousands of people for a better life."

Ildar Rafkatovich Bayazitov — is one of the most prominent and multifaceted figures in modern Muslim and public life in Russia, and his name is inextricably linked with Tatarstan. His activities go far beyond traditional religious practice, encompassing large-scale charity, social work, education and cultural development. He combines spiritual mentorship, systematic charity, educational outreach, collaboration with the government, and a profound creative dimension. This is a phenomenon, a living legend, whose influence on the social and spiritual life of Russia goes far beyond formal positions. He is the epitome of how tireless work, deep faith, and sincere compassion can transform not only the destinies of individuals, but also entire systems. For many, he has become a symbol of active, open, and compassionate Islam, and his biography is the story of a man who not only serves his faith but also improves the lives of thousands of people.

The Path to His Vocation: From Philology to Imamate.

Ildar Bayazitov's path to his vocation was unconventional. He received a fundamental philological education, graduating from the Faculty of Russian Philology. In 1998, his service as an imam began. His career developed rapidly: from working in small parishes to leading one of the most important mosques in the republic. The appointment of the Imam-khatib of the Suleiman mosque in the village of Levchenko became a key stage.

It was here, on the basis of a small parish, that the idea of creating a unique assistance system originated. Ildar Hazrat not only conducted divine services, but also saw an urgent need for real support for those who had been turned away by society. This is how the mosque became a center of attraction for people with disabilities. The Architect of Mercy: The Nationwide Charitable Foundation “Yardam‑Help” and Its Scale. The creation and development of the Nationwide Charitable Foundation “Yardam‑Help” became Ildar Bayazitov’s life’s main work.

Under his leadership, the foundation grew into the most powerful rehabilitation center on an all-Russian scale. This is a unique project not only for Russia, but also for the entire post-Soviet space. The Foundation's activities cover almost all vulnerable segments of the population:

Working with people with disabilities: This is the business card of the “Yardam-Help” Foundation.

The Foundation has become a pioneer in teaching blind and visually impaired people the basics of Islam, computer literacy and crafts.

Here, conditions have been created for the rehabilitation of wheelchair users and people with cerebral palsy (CP).

Social adaptation: The Foundation helps former prisoners to return to normal life, rehabilitates drug and alcohol addicts.

Family support: providing assistance to orphans, homeless and low-income families.

Ildar Hazrat personally oversees the construction of new inclusive centers, boarding houses for boys and girls, and Quran study centers.

His philosophy is simple: faith must be active.

He often repeats that nothing is impossible for Allah if the deed is good and brings benefits people.

This faith in success and the cohesive team of like‑minded people enabled the foundation to weather crises and grow from a small mosque into a vast complex.

Working with the Federal Penitentiary Service: spiritual renewal and prevention

A special place in Ildar Bayazitov's extensive work is occupied by systematic work with the Federal Penitentiary Service (FPS). His contribution to this area is not episodic, but strategic.

He personally oversees the training of imams for work in correctional facilities, as a member of the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Republic of Tatarstan

Bayazitov's key philosophy in this work is that the imam in prison -is not a warden, but a mentor.

His main goal is not to engage in religious debates or proselytism, but to provide in‑depth psychological and spiritual support to the inmates.

The aim of this work is to help a person find inner strength, discover a path to moral renewal, and return to society as a fully functioning, responsible citizen.

This is a powerful tool for preventing radicalization and repeat offending.

Under his leadership and with the participation of the National Charitable Foundation “Yardam‑Help”, educational projects for the clergy are being implemented, where imams are taught not only theology, but also the basics of communication and psychology for effective work with a special agent.

Ildar Hazrat emphasises the importance of systematic enlightenment, which should replace distorted perceptions of faith with a solid foundation of traditional values.

The success of this work is evident in the fact that cooperation between the Muftiate with the Federal Penitentiary Service has become a daily practice throughout the country, and the understanding of the importance of spiritual service in the penitentiary system is now recognized at all levels of the agency.

Ildar Bayazitov's contribution to the reform of the penitentiary system is one of the most significant pages of his work.

He approached this complex topic not as a theorist, but as a practitioner.

Having become a member of the Public Council of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and actively working in this field since 2016, he changed his approach to spiritual ministry in places of detention. Ildar Hazrat insists on systematic education, which should displace distorted dogmas and give a person a foothold to return to society. He personally oversees educational projects at the Bulgarian Islamic Academy, where imams from different regions share their experiences.
